I will say the telepresence robot made it a lot easier for me to do my job as a journalist. Seeing the factory floor firsthand allowed me a perspective I wouldn’t have had otherwise, given coronavirus safety precautions. If I had a loved one in the hospital whom I couldn’t visit, I can understand how the ability to move around their space and reposition myself beside their bed would add a sense of agency and connection that would make an awkwardly-angled FaceTime chat seem comparatively sterile.
