NBC’s Today Show features Ohmni robot in a segment called Robot Revolution, which discussed how robots are changing our homes and making their way into our daily lives.
Ripples is a robot you may have already seen in a cafe. It allows the user to personalize any beverage with a logo or graphic of their choice. Using “bev-top media,” Ripples dresses up drinks with trending topics, promotional offers, fun doodles and friendly greetings to create and update drink content to any business.
Next up was Ohmni telepresence robot. They are great for homes, senior care, education and more. Reporter Katie Linendoll mentioned she volunteers in pediatric cancer centers where a lot of kids use telepresence robots to attend school remotely. The sleek and portable robot allows users to do up to 6 5-hour calls in one day. Moreover, at only 20 pounds, it’s very lightweight so it’s suitable for any home.
Designed and built in Silicon Valley, California, the new Ohmni Supercam contains the highest resolution camera available in a telepresence robot. A 13MP camera plus the Ohmni low-latency encoding system gives you an immersive, ultra-wide field of view without sacrificing visual detail. At 4’8” tall, Ohmni is the perfect height for standing and seated conversations. The smooth, fluid tilting neck gives you the perfect view and feels more human than a fixed screen. The 130-degree tilt range lets you look all the way down to the floor or up to the ceiling.
The segment then featured Mattel’s Jurassic World: Alpha Training Blue dinosaur robot. It’s packed with sensors that will guard a kid’s room. Using a remote controller, kids can learn how to train, control and play with their responsive, lifelike Velociraptor. Give treats, reward Blue by petting her, and move her using responsive motion commands.
Littlebits Avengers Hero Inventor Kit was featured next. Kids can experience coding for sensors and light features using the robotic hand. It’s a fun way to get kids involved in robotics and engineering. Maddie thinks it’s awesome!
